Application Procedures

NEIGHBORHOOD STUDENT APARTMENTS - approximate monthly rent for the 2008-2009 academic year:

Furnished 2-bedroom apartment, shared by 2 single students (per student) $532 - $687
Furnished studio, single occupancy $587 - $861
Furnished 1-bedroom apartment, single or family occupancy $741 - $1,030
Unfurnished studio apartment, single occupancy $598 - $838
Unfurnished 1-bedroom apartment, single or family occupancy $702 - $1,100
Unfurnished 2-bedroom apartment for one student family $820 - $1,285
Unfurnished 3-bedroom apartment for one student family $881 - $1,625

Few apartments are available at the lowest and highest rents.

Heat and hot water are included in all apartment rents except in Building 7. Inclusion of cooking gas and/or electricity varies by building, although they are included in most furnished apartment rents. University telephone and Internet service are included in buildings 12 and NGRH.

NEW GRADUATE RESIDENCE HALL (NGRH) &150; approximate prices for the 2008-2009 academic year, September 12, 2008 through June 15, 2009.

Early occupancy is possible beginning August 29th with prior notification at a per diem rate.

NGRH is rented for the full academic year and is closed for the Summer Quarter. Students who are at the University for one quarter and wish to live in NGRH will be offered a Single Room in NGRH only if NGRH is not fully rented by August 15th. Vacant units may be filled with non-graduate student, University-affiliated applicants.

NGRH rates include all utilities, University telephone and Internet service, a 24-hour front desk, and an exercise room..

Residents of NGRH may purchase an optional board contract; further information can be found at http://rh.uchicago.edu/hds/dining/. Limited pay parking is available through Campus Transportation & Parking; please refer to http://facilities.uchicago.edu/transpparking/.

Please note that NGRH is completely smoke-free.
