If you are assigned to a building with parking, you must complete the parking form enclosed with your assignment and return it in order to be added to the wait list.
If you have applied for a shared apartment, your lease is only for one term and ends August 31. Your lease will be renewed only if both spaces are occupied by September 1 of the new lease term. Application Agreement
By clicking the Submit button below you agree to the following:
After clicking Submit I will be presented with a web page which I will use to initiate an electronic funds transfer from a U.S. checking or savings account to the University of Chicago in the amount of $300.00. This payment represents my application deposit. I understand that my application for housing will not be considered complete until I receive an email from the Assignment Office that confirms the receipt of my application and the transfer of my deposit.
I understand that only graduate students who are enrolled full-time at the University of Chicago are eligible for graduate student housing. As defined in the Student Manual of University Policies and Regulations, full-time status is "accorded to all students enrolled who undertake an academic workload consisting of any combination of courses, work experience, research, or special studies that is considered a full-time workload."
I understand that if I sign a lease for an REO apartment, the deposit is applied to the first month’s rent after I move in.
I further understand that if I have accepted an apartment and subsequently do not move into graduate student housing, the deposit is forfeited.
If I have not accepted an apartment I may request to withdraw my application and receive a refund of my deposit. Requests must be made in writing (within one year of the application date) and must include my home mailing address. It takes from four to six weeks to process the refund check.
