Campus Bus Service

Transportation is an important consideration in your housing decision. Although all University housing units are located within walking distance of the main campus, many students use the campus bus service in bad weather or at night.

Several bus routes serve all of the University's off-campus housing units during the day. Runs are concentrated between 7:00 and 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Buses are free to students displaying a University of Chicago I.D.

The University also provides a free evening bus service between the Quadrangles and apartments and residence halls -indeed, throughout all of Hyde Park. From 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., buses run continuously from the Joseph Regenstein Library on four regular routes.
